Greetings!

Hope you’ve been having a great week. Let’s jump into it!

🎲 The Zen of Board Games

My favorite new hobby has been playing board games weekly with friends.

I previously played a lot of videogames with the same group, but during COVID we’ve gravitated toward physical board games. Something about the tactile nature of these games, combined with the in-person social element makes a uniquely peaceful shared experience.

If you’re looking to dip your toe into board games, but don’t know where to start, I highly recommend the game Love Letter.

It’s inexpensive, quick to learn, and fits in your pocket. It’s the perfect casual game to play after dinner, or at a brewery or coffee shop with friends.

🧘 Transcendent Experiences

Have you ever experienced a moment so intensely that all concepts of time faded away? Where you were utterly engrossed in the moment and weren’t distracted by regrets from the past, or anxieties about the future?

For most of us, these types of experiences are uncommon, if not completely absent in our daily lives.

So why not try and increase the frequency of these experiences?

Ask yourself, when was the last time you had a transcendent experience? Who were you with? And what were your doing?

It may have been a walk in nature, a beautiful song, or a great conversation with someone you love.

Why not try and intentionally facilitate more of these experiences?
